  • Short Bio / Excerpt:

Marc Guyon (阮維安) is a multifaceted French entrepreneur, professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, martial arts instructor, and elected political figure based in Hong Kong SAR. Born on March 21, 1984, in Marseille, France, to parents of Vietnamese descent, Guyon has built a unique cross-continental life. His career seamlessly bridges the rigorous discipline of combat sports with international financial administration, community activism, and expat political representation within the French diaspora in Asia.

Before establishing his roots in Hong Kong, Guyon built a strong academic and corporate foundation in Europe. He attended the Aix-Marseille Graduate School of Management (IAE), graduating with first-class honors in 2010 with a Master’s degree in International Financial Management. Following his graduation, he completed a two-year corporate placement (VIE) as a financial controller in Birmingham, England. Despite embarking on a highly stable path in corporate finance, a lifelong fascination with martial arts and the legacy of Bruce Lee ultimately compelled him to radically alter his trajectory.

In late 2012, Guyon arrived in Hong Kong with a backpack and a working holiday visa, initially planning a short stay to study under local Kung Fu legends. He soon integrated into the local martial arts community, developing a deep mastery of Wing Chun alongside boxing, savate, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Transitioning his passion into a professional pursuit, he made his professional MMA debut in 2014, eventually competing under regional promotions like JUST MMA. Known for his efforts to apply traditional Wing Chun principles inside the modern MMA cage, he transitioned into an influential coach, training expatriate and local clients across Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

While establishing his martial arts footprint, Guyon balanced his athletic endeavors with corporate work and community leadership within Hong Kong's French expatriate community. He utilized his financial background to secure corporate management roles through connections at the French Chamber of Commerce. In September 2016, he was elected president of the Union des Français de l'Étranger (UFE) Hong Kong chapter, significantly modernizing the organization and expanding its membership network. He has also spearheaded major local charitable initiatives, notably serving as the regional coordinator for the AFM-Téléthon in Hong Kong.

In recent years, Guyon’s public profile has expanded into national politics and international business representation. Operating as a representative for Club France International (CFI), he entered the political arena to advocate for the rights of French citizens living overseas. He ran as a candidate in the French legislative elections for the 11th overseas constituency (covering Asia, Oceania, and Eastern Europe) during both the 2022 and 2024 cycles, and qualified for the ballot in the 2026 French Senate elections representing citizens abroad. Today, settled in Hong Kong with his wife and two children, Guyon operates his personal advisory platforms, continuously promoting cross-border commerce, cultural exchanges, and martial arts education.
